The Deep Fisher project aims to develop a product that allows threats to be identified in the bud computer
science and fraud attempts through massive analysis of both the World Wide Web and also the Deep Web, that
is the part of the World Wide Web that is not indexed by traditional search engines and that constitutes
the space where the black market of cybercrime moves.
Deep Fisher's idea stems from the observation that a cyber-attack, as well as most illicit activities,
is not the result of improvisation but is only the outcome of an ideation, studying, and planning
activities started well before the attack itself. Deep Fisher aims to seize, through the analysis
of the Web and the Deep Web, the signals of this activity, to allow an early detection.
The basic idea of the product is to monitor, in a systematic and incremental way, all the possible
signals of an attack rather than, as happens today, collecting a huge database of possible risks,
and address cyber-attacks only when they occur and not through a strategy of "prevention”.
